Singh also essentially won his 2004 PGA Championship at match play, defeating Justin Leonard and Chris DiMarco in the second three-hole aggregate playoff in PGA Championship history, on the Straits course at Whistling Straits here in Kohler. Singh became the fourth oldest competitor to win the PGA Championship at 41 years, five months and 23 days by birdieing the first playoff hole and parring in on the then- longest course in major championship history at 7,536 yards. Singh banked 1.125 million for his victory at Whistling Straits, a sum that certainly had Sarazen smiling with envy from above, since The Squire had passed away at 97 on May 13, 1999.
