earned among United States Ryder Cup players, having garnered 23Q points in 37 matches. Casper will kick off his special day of honor by greeting spectators and offering tips about the game at the PGA Learning Center presented by American Express in the PGA Town Center.
The PGA Learning Center presented by American Express is one can’t-miss port of call, featuring an air-conditioned 8,000- square-foot facility that includes swing capture video analysis, video screens, two swing simulators and a daily closest to the hole contest, along with putting greens, complimentary free lessons and clinics hosted by Wisconsin PGA Professionals and some members of the Championship field; and capped by a Wisconsin PGA Information Desk promoting the state’s wide-ranging golf programs. The PGA Learning Center also will offer special benefits for American Express Cardmembers.
The American Express Cardmember Club, located next to the Wanamaker Club in the PGA Town Center, is a climate-controlled pavilion open to spectators carrying the American Express Card and features television monitors with live Championship action and upgraded experiences for Cardmembers. Simply show your American Express Card for complimentary access.
The PGA Fan Experience presented by RBC, the Official Bank of The PGA of America, also makes up one of many attractions within PGA Town Center where you may feel like a professional
before you depart. It’s a stop where you can design your own RBC golf bag in a special contest, compare your golf swing to the professionals and have your photo taken with a virtual Team RBC.
The PGA Performance Center presented by Mercedes-Benz is located near the Main Entrance in the PGA Town Center and open to all spectators. Visitors can receive a free putting analysis by a PGA Professional, while Mercedes-Benz provides a not-to-be missed 3-D video featuring unique golf footage and the most technologically advanced vehicles on the road.
The traditional PGA Championship Community Relations Youth Clinic, Aug. 9, will be conducted on the Irish course at Whistling Straits. The clinic brings together some 30 Wisconsin PGA Professionals and 250 youngsters representing youth groups, charities and organizations in the Greater Milwaukee area.
Those youngsters will be entertained by Dennis Walters of Jupiter, Fla., a PGA Honorary Member and the 2008 PGA Distinguished Service Award recipient.
Since 1976, Walters has traveled nationwide displaying trick shot artistry while extolling life lessons. The clinic also includes free PGA instruction and the opportunity to view a practice round of the PGA Championship.
No matter what element of the game or what piece of its history, The PGA Experience at the 92nd PGA Championship promises to be an impactful journey. ●
